Puyuhuapi
House built by the German settlers

Puyuhuapi

A small town founded on January 10th 1935, by a group of immigrants hailing from Rossbach in the Cech Republic. Located 18 Km (11 Mi) South of the Lodge, the town is situated on the northern point of the Puyuhuapi Fiord. It’s main attractions include it’s architectural heritage, influenced by the german settlers of the town. Most houses are built using native timbers and the style of the houses draws from both it’s german heritage and the architectural style of Chiloé. Another interesting aspect is its scenery, a natural amphitheatre formed by the fiord.

Puyuhuapi Fiord

A fiord of glacial origin, it is home to the town of Puyuhuapi. Its abrupt, jagged shores, covered by dense forests, make it an ideal spot for nature lovers, which can navigate the fiord aboard small motorboats of kayaks. The numerous streams flowing into the fiord make ideal spots for fly-fishing, yielding excellent results.
