Trekking in the heart of the green Patagonia

El Pangue offers visitors a wide selection of hiking trails and circuits. These outings allow you to commune with nature and appreciate the majestic and imposing scenery of Patagonia. For those who want to be one with nature, these trips can be the ultimate experience

River trail


Something for Everyone:


The River Trail:

This trail follows the Risopatrón River as it winds through the dense temperate valdivian rainforest. It is a unique experience that allows visitors to feel the density and pristine quality of the forest, a true testament to the untouched nature of Patagonia. The Lodge provides a guide who accompanies visitors, showing them the different species of native trees and pants, as well as local birds that can be sighted throughout the hike

Duration: Half Day.
Length: 3 Km (1.8 Mi).
Difficulty: Low
Equipment: Waterproof coat and rubber boots on rainy days.


Turbine Stream:

The hike leads to a mini hydro-power plant, which supplies the lodge with electricity. During the walk the guide will show visitors how the power plant works, together with its main components. The backdrop is the lush valdivian rainforest.

Duration: 1 Hour
Length: 400 Meters aprox.
Difficulty: Medium
Equipment: Waterproof coat and rubber boots on rainy days


Senda Miradores:

The trail leads to a series of lookout points, from which you can appreciate different views of Lake Rispoatrón and Queulat National Park. This trek can be taken without a guide if the visitor prefers.


Duration: 2 Hours
Length: 400 Meters aprox.
Difficulty: Medium
Equipment: Waterproof coat and rubber boots on rainy days


Los Pumas Lagoon Trail:

This trek leads to the Los Pumas Lagoon, located atop a hill overlooking Queulat National Park. The trail snakes its way round the hill until it comes to the lagoon. Due to the altitude of the area, the vegetation changes substantially in comparison to the evergreen forest.

Duration: 1 Day
Length: 5 Km (3.1 Mi).
Difficulty: High
Equipment: Small rucksack, water bottle, hiking shoes and waterproof coat.


Hanging Drift:

A series of trails, which navigate the Hanging Drift area in Queulat National Park. During the outing the group explores these route accompanied by one of our guides, who will also show visitors the diverse flora and fauna of the place. Each trail is a unique way of approaching the Hanging Drift, which is one of the main landmarks of the Queulat National Park.

Duration: 1 Day
Length: 7 Km (4.35 Mi).
Difficulty: Medium and Low (visitors can choose a trail which suits them)
Equipment: Small rucksack, water bottle, hiking shoes and waterproof coat..
